Our mission
Flash Forward's mission is to improve energy access, specifically energy poverty relief, around the globe.
Flash Forward provided solar-powered flashlights, training and education to developing countries. We are a 100% volunteer-run, student-led, energy-poverty focused nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
Brighter
futures

More than 700 million people around the world still live without reliable access to electricity. For students in these communities, learning stops when the sun goes down, leaving only a few daylight hours to study and no safe way to read after dark.
Flash Forward is changing that with durable, solar-powered flashlights. Each light charges during the day and shines for hours at night, so students can keep learning after sunset, with no grid connection, no disposable batteries, and no ongoing cost.
By putting reliable light directly into students’ hands, we help replace unsafe kerosene lamps and candles and give every recipient more time to learn, work, and build a brighter future.
