These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Flash Forward Foundation. By accessing or using our website in any way, you agree to these Terms. These Terms include the provisions in this document as well as those in our Privacy Policy.
Who We Are
Flash Forward Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 39-3605570) founded by students to help end energy poverty. We design, build, and distribute solar-powered flashlights to students living without reliable access to electricity, and we recruit volunteers to help us design, manufacture, fundraise, and ship lights around the world.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use our website or submit a form. If you are under 18, you may only use our website and submit forms with the involvement or consent of a parent or guardian. By using our website, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Using Our Website
You may use our website to learn about our mission, dedicate a solar light, donate equipment or funds, apply to volunteer, or contact our team. Donations
Donations made through our website are processed by our third-party donation platform, GoFundMe, and are subject to GoFundMe’s own terms and privacy practices in addition to these Terms. Flash Forward Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We are not responsible for errors, delays, or issues caused by third-party payment processors.
Volunteer Applications & Contact Forms
When you submit a form on our website — for example, to volunteer, ask for help, donate equipment, or contact us — the information you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and message) is sent directly to our team so we can respond to you. Submitting a form does not guarantee a volunteer position, a response time, or any particular outcome.
Volunteering & In-Person Activities
Volunteers are not employees, agents, or legal representatives of Flash Forward Foundation, and nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship. We may accept, decline, pause, or end anyone’s participation as a volunteer at our sole discretion, at any time, for any reason or no reason.
Assumption of Risk
Volunteering, attending events, handling donated equipment, and building, testing, shipping, or using solar-powered flashlights or other hardware associated with Flash Forward Foundation involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, property damage, and electrical or battery-related hazards. By participating in any Flash Forward Foundation activity or using any product associated with us, you voluntarily assume all such risks to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Flash Forward Foundation, its officers, volunteers, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of our website, your violation of these Terms, your submission of content, or your participation in any Flash Forward Foundation activity.

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, labor disputes, internet or utility failures, or disruptions to shipping and supply chains.
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises out of or relates to these Terms or our website, we encourage you to first contact us at about@flashforwardfoundation.org so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Governing Law
